Kyocera Wireless & Siemens Announce M2M Relationship

Kyocera and Siemens today announced a formal sales and business development relationship to cooperatively provide CDMA and GSM M2M solutions. Both companies claim the relationship will allow them to better serve their system integrators, application development and solution deployment customers with more flexibility.

From the press release:

Each company will now offer M2M modules with an optimized design, including similar physical footprints and features, which will enable easy integration for either CDMA- or GSM-based solutions.

“Collaborating brings the strengths of each company together to better serve our respective customer bases and provide more flexibility for product development,” said Dean Fledderjohn, general manager of the M2M division at Kyocera Wireless Corp. “Now, for example, a system integrator doesn’t need to start from scratch if a customer wants to take a GSM solution and develop the same for CDMA operators in North America or vice versa.”
